What draws you to the IEM Vision?
I had the privilege of working with IEM Founder (and my good friend) Randy Gaschler at both the predecessor of IEM, Horizon Instructional Systems, and IEM prior to my joining the IEM Board. It continues to be a privilege for me to serve as a Board member, as I am very much committed to our mission of honoring individual education choice and empowering parents and teachers to work with the students to collaboratively create learning opportunities.
What do you believe is the most valuable experience/expertise that you offer IEM as a Board Member?
I bring my historical hands-on business and administration perspective, serving as Director of Operations during IEM’s “evolution” from a single charter school to a public benefit, multi-charter school development and management organization, as well as being a parent of traditional public school-educated children. I have experienced both approaches to public education and believe in the concept of developing and providing a wide spectrum of educational programs to optimally meet students’ needs.
